Restaurant review : Mash

Mash in Besant Nagar, Chennai is a typical sea-side and open air restaurant that seems to be an appetising food joint by only the looks of it. The open-air section, offers you a lovely sea breeze, the salty smell that comes along and the promise of having a great dinner in such an ambience. It also has an AC section. This, however, is probably one of the few places where Mash may score.

When you enter, at first the restaurant greets you with oily tables. An attempt to order then might, depending on your luck, land you an efficient or an indifferent waiter. The menu, though presenting you with a number of exotic and culinary dishes, after the food, ensures that you would only recommend the usual fare at this restaurant. That’s because there’s really nothing different about its dishes; though I would recommend a go at the Chicken Cordon Bleu or the Aachi Kozhi Stroganoff. But with such criticism, let us also mention a good point about it - that is the generous portions that the restaurant showers you with.

Verdict : Overall, a decent ambience, but run-of-the-mill food. Probably a place you could come to when a reasonable ambience would score over good food.
