TOP TEN beautiful tennis player

Tennis is generally considered to be a game mainly for the rich people. Well, I am not saying that tennis players always come from rich background. In fact, Maria Sharapova is the vivid exception in this regard. I want to say that people from all walks of life can not get to play tennis. However, tennis is still a popular game among the people from all walks of life. No doubt, beauty, glamour and fashion have big role behind this attraction for tennis. Well, that does not mean that as a sports tennis has no excitement or there is no passionate fan of tennis. In fact, there are many passionate tennis fans all around, but still, beauty and glamour have become a part of tennis. Here, I am giving a list of some of the most beautiful tennis players of present time:

Maria Sharapova

This Russian female tennis player needs no introduction. In 2001, Sharapova just played only one tournament on the ITF circuit and turned into professional tennis player. In 2002, at the age of 14, Sharapova became the youngest player in the world to reach the final round of the Junior Australian Open which she continued later in the same year. In 2001, she also won three titles in the ITF circuit and made her first WTA tour. In 2003, Sharapova was named the WTA Newcomer of the Year. Within three years of her professional tennis career, Sharapova made it to No.4 spot. Sharapova is a power baseliner. She prefers to hit “swinging” volley over traditional volley. She also has good speed on the court. Her biggest weapons are her first and second serves. Very few female tennis players can serve at such a high speed. At the Rome Masters, she hit at 206 kmph fault serve against Dominika Cibulková. Sharapova is an expert at playing on hard and grass courts but she can not play well on clay courts. Once she described herself as a “Cow on Ice” after playing a match on clay court. For a fast moving player like her, she slips on clay, which requires players to move slowly.

Ana Ivanovic

Ana Ivanovic was born on November 6, 1987 in Belgrade, Serbia. Born to a lawyer mother and a self-employed businessman father, Ana Ivanović started playing tennis at the age of five. She was inspired by another famous Serbian tennis player, Monica Seles. Ivanović’s mother, Dragana attends all her daughter’s matches and his father attends when ever he can. Like other tennis players, Ivanović did not have a smooth start. During her training days,Serbia was in war. In 1999, there was NATO bombings and to avoid them she would train early morning in an empty swimming pool.

Ivanović first caught attention of the tennis lovers in 2004 by reaching at the final of the Junior Wimbledon tournament. Unfortunately, she lost to Kateryna Bondarenko. That same year, she won all the five events on the ITF circuit and tasted her first professional win by beating Venus Williams to two tie breaks at the Zürich Open in Zürich, Switzerland. Next year, Ana Ivanović defeated players of her country including Svetlana Kuznetsova, Nadia Petrova, and Vera Zvonareva. She also won her first career singles title as a qualifier in Canberra, Australia. She reached the quarterfinals of the French Open by defeating Amélie Mauresmo who earlier defeated her at the Australian Open. That year she also reached the semifinals of the Zurich Open.

Maria Kirilenko

Born on January 25, 1987, Maria Kirilenko is one of the rising female tennis players. In July 18, 2008, Maria Kirilenko was ranked #18 on the list of WTA which is her highest ranking till date. Maria Kirilenko started playing tennis at the age of five. In the beginning it was difficult for her as she was attending regular school. Seeing her interest in tennis, Maria’s father admitted her into a tennis school where she honed her talents and won several tournaments. At the age of twelve, Maria Kirilenko got the attention of famous Russian tennis player, Elena Brioukhovets. Later she trained under Yevgeni Kafelnikov, Andrei Olhovskiy and Max Mirnyi. In 2002, Kirilenko became one of the youngest winners of the Canadian Open and the US Open Junior Tournaments. Kirilenko became a regular participant in WTA events since September 2002. In 2004, she suffered an injury but came back in 2005 by winning her first title in Beijing. Though she performed poorly after the Summer of 2006, she was considered to be one of the up and coming players. A good friend of Maria Sharapova, Maria Kirilenko is affectionately called Makiri. Maria Kirilenko was chosen to be the face of Adidas by Stella McCartney tennis range in 2006. Kirilenko appeared at the 2006 Australian Open wearing Adidas clothing and footwear which were designed by Stella McCartney.

Nicole Vaidisova

Coming from Czech Republic, Nicole Vaidisova has become one of the top tennis players in the world with her immense talent and skill. Besides her tennis skill, the 19 year old blonde is also famous for her physical beauty and style. Nicole Vaidisova has an attractive physique that can impress anybody. With her killing smile, Vaidisova has already won millions of hearts. She is very fashionable and stylish.

Nicole Vaidisova started playing tennis at the tender age of six. Trained under famous coach Nick Bollettieri, she stepped into professional circuit at the age of 17, becoming the 12th youngest players in the history of WTA tour. Though she could not win any grand slam title yet, Vaidisova reached her career high ranking of 7 in 2007. Currently, the beauty queen stands 12th at the WTA ranking.

Reebok, the world famous sports apparel, and accessories manufacturer, is the main sponsor of Vaidisova.

Nicole Vaidisova was featured in Reebok’s “I Am What I Am” and “Run Easy” campaigns. Vaidisova also promotes Citizen Watch Co., Ltd and its Eco-Drive design. She is also involved in social activities too. Vaidisova is an ambassador of a NGO named PlayPumps International.

Serena Williams

World no. 2 Serena Williams has already become a great in the history of womens tennis with 9 grand slam titles. Besides tennis, the American is also well-known for her physical beauty and fashion. Serena Williams is very much active in fashion and often wears eye-catching outfits both on and off the court. With dark body skin and curly hair, Serena has got an attractive look that would impress anybody.

Serena Williams caught the media attention when she wore a catsuit, a skin-tight one-piece garment, during 2002 US Open. In Wimbledon 2008, Serena came to court wearing a trench coat, even though there was no rain and she continued this fashion all across the tournament. Serena William has a deal worth US$40 million with Nike. Earlier, she had deal with Puma too. Serena Williams has her own brand of clothing named Aneres. Besides tennis and fashion, Serena Williams also appeared in different television shows and took part in several entertainment shows. You can find Serena Williams in social works too like she funded a secondary school in Kenya which is named after her.

Karolina Sprem

Karolina Sprem could not yet flourish her potential, even though her starting years showed lots of promises. Turned professional in 2001, the Croatian has not won any WTA tour title yet in her career. However, her immense beauty did not go unnoticed. With her tall, svelte figure and beauty, Karolina Sprem won many hearts.

Karolina Sprem made a mistake by joining Borna Bikic in a crucial point of her career and this is perhaps the reason behind her constant failure to become one of the top tennis players in the world. At 24, she still has time to come to lime light with her tennis skill and success. May be, her beauty will get much more exposure if she can break into top 20 or top 30 of world ranking.

Marta Domachowska

To be honest with you, the Polish tennis star is one of the most beautiful tennis players currently active on the court. The blonde has a killing smile to win your heart. With her tall, attractive physical physique, Marta Domachowska has a great appeal to all her fans both for her tennis skill as well as her immense beauty. Her current rank is 66th in WTA ranking. Domachowska’s on-court success includes winning 6 ITF titles so far. She is now 22 and her record is not impressive at all, but with her beauty and awesome smile, Marta Domachowska has already started coming into dream of many.

Sania Mirza

Sania Mirza is the beauty queen of Asia as far as female tennis is concerned. I cannot think of any other Asian female player who has become so popular for beauty and sex appeal. It is true that among Indian players, she has the best ranking but she never came into the limelight for her tennis skill. In fact, she has not won any trophy yet in any Grand Slam. She even did not reach into the semi-finals of any grand slam either. At this moment, her ranking is touching 100. Still, she is the hot diva of female tennis in India. You may think that Ana Ivanovic is the hottest girl on pro-tennis today but for Indian people, there is only one beautiful woman- Sania Mirza. Many people are crazy for her in her home country. Because of her beauty and success, the young generation are now interested about this sports.

Sania has got award from the Indian government. She also did some cool advertisements. Her ad with Sprite became popular for few months. Sania Mirza is now 22 years old and it seems that she has already passed her prime form. Anyway, I think that she will join the entertainment industry in India in future. I will not get too much shocked to find her in any Bollywood movie in future.

Daniela Hantuchova

Daniela Hantuchova is 25 and she is from Slovakia and she is certainly the dream girl of many men. Well, one thing I like about her is that she tries to be best in everything. Yes, Daniela Hantuchova is a glamour girl of tennis and I am sure that she enjoys this matter. However, she is dead serious about her game too. She was a good student and got the chance to study in a university but she delayed it because she wanted to focus on her playing. It shows her commitment to her profession. She has earned nearly $6 million of prize money and about her sponsorships I am quoting from the Wikipedia entry on her:

Hantuchová endorses Nike sportswear and has her own line with them for her tournament wear, such as Maria Sharapova and Serena Williams.

Hantuchová also has had endorsement by three racquet makers. She was first endorsed by Babolat from being a junior until late 2003, then Yonex until the 2007 Toray Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo when she then used the Prince Ozone Seven Racquets from the 2007 Barclays Dubai Tennis Championships.

Elena Vesnina

I will not be surprised if you do not agree with my choice about Elena Vesnina. She is not still one of the top players. Even, she is not considered to be one of the most beautiful female players by many people either. At least, you cannot find a lot of information about her being a hot woman in Internet. Well, I feel that she has all the potential to be considered as one of the most beautiful tennis players today. What I like a lot about Elena Vesnina is that in her official website, she has given a lot of information and pictures for the fans. After seeing some of her pictures, you may change your mind about her. The address of her official website is: http://www.elena-vesnina.com/

The list is based on my personal opinion. So, you do not need to agree with me because you may your own choices.
